Sprouted Grain Chips!

Ok, So one day I attended a Jeffery Combs Mastermind Event <<Life changing in more ways than one>> While I was there, one of my team-mates, also Rache(a)l, shared her snack with me and I couldn't believe how delicious and simple it is to make your own chips! <<Minus the Junk>>

I can't help but share this for all to enjoy!

 

 

BONUS: this is a cleanse approved snack for those that are on the nutritional detox program I help coach people through! <<SCORE!>>

 

HOW TO MAKE

SPROUTED GRAIN CHIPS:

 

  1. Purchase sprouted grain wraps (most health food stores will have them located in the freezer section. I am a big fan of Eziekel brand)
  2. Preheat oven for 400 degrees
  3. I used my pizza cutter to slice into little slivers for easy munching
  4. Place on baking sheet or hot stone 
  5. Lightly oil or use cooking spray (for seasoning to stick)
  6. Season with your favorites (I used a Steak seasoning that has a variety of yummy goodness) Salt + Pepper will do the trick
  7. Place in oven for 5m (if on baking sheet) and 8-9m (if on hot stone)
  8. Voila! You now have your own homemade sprouted grain chips!

You can totally get creative here and and add your favorite hummus, TOP WITH avocados, arugula, TOMATOES AND kalamata olives! Get crazy with this GUILT FREE SNACK!

HEALTHY PANCAKE RECIPE

Ok so these are an absolute staple…NO, more like a REQUIREMENT, in our home! Our girls LOVE THEM! So this makes mama happy knowing that I am creating healthy pancakes for my family to indulge and enjoy Sunday mornings, GUILT FREE... It is SUPER EASY,SUPER DELICIOUS, AND SUPER NUTRITIOUS!!! 

<<This Recipe usually serves 3-4 so double up if you need more>>

TO MAKE BATTER, IN YOUR FAVORITE BLENDER (We love our Nutri-Bullet) COMBINE ALL OF THESE INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 BANANA
  • 2 c OATS
  • 1 c EGG WHITES (I sometimes throw in 1 WHOLE EGG too)
  • 1-2 TBSP PEANUT BUTTER (ALLERGY? SUB ALMOND OR SUN BUTTER)
  • 1.5 c ALMOND MILK
  • SPRINKLE CINNAMON
  • 1 TBSP GROUND FLAX (OR HEMP) SEED
  • 1 DASH VANILLA (OPTIONAL)

<PROCEED ON TO MAKE YOUR PANCAKES AS USUAL>

(Recommended to keep Skillet @ medium heat)…

The first pancake is always our "Tester" and doesn't always cook perfectly like the rest. I realize now it's because the griddle is not hot yet and needs time to warm up, but this has become a tradition to always gobble up the first one just to "make sure" it's good lol. So don't be discouraged if your first pancake sticks to the pan a bit and doesn't come out "perfect"..The rest should cook nicely so long as you keep the heat to a medium and flip your pancakes over once it starts bubbling on top.

TIP:  While cooking the other pancakes, I put foil over the stack that are already cooked so they don't get cold, unless of course you have a special oven for that and in that case you are BLESSED BY THE PANCAKE GODS :)

RECOMMENDATION: Find a Maple Syrup that does not have high fructose corn syrup!
